HI, Great explanation how to use the tool but in the 30dc the chosen field, vintage electric guitars, according to gtrends it would be a very bad decision with 2 (x) over 30,000 competing and 0 conversions so is there more to it than this or am I, and for sure many more people missing something? The full version is so easy to use though and many Thanks for that.

Hiya, you've got a lot of comments, i'll cross my fingers here..!t
i see now the second bar now reads "actual visitors from #1 in google/day." this number seems really low? for instance, quite often there will be 1,000 - 2,000 people searching for a term (according to the first screen), and then only ~5 a day in this second bar/ screen.
can the conversions really be that low? where do the other 995 go, i wonder?
i hope you can lead me towards a bit more information about this figure, because besides the concern about numbers, it's a great tool.

Morning Ed,
That's a fantastic tool. You did mention it earlier in the 30DC but I could never get it to work properly - the Thesaurus side never came up. I actually contacted Mike Mindel directly to find out what I was doing wrong. Can't wait to start searching again...
Many thanks yet again.

Dear Mike - we are new to Ed's 30DC and have just come across your Wordtracker Gtrends tool. we have tried to use it (following the link on your email which notified us of the Gtrends tool) but we do not get any words showing in the Thesaurus column.
can you please advise what we should (or should not) be doing.
kind regards - Lola

Very cool. I am just doing the 30DC now but I am a bit confused over the competitive analysis. In one of the videos (Dan Raine?) competitive analysis is demonstrated using google just like you are, except, they go beyond it by setting number of results per page to 100 and then going to page 10, and seeing that the real unique pages are 787, not 35,500. Am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Mike Stenhouse and you Mike Mindel deserve a standing ovation for the work y'all (that's Texan)did in developing this WT/GTrend tool.
It has saved untold hours around the globe as 30DCers searched for that perfect set of key words.
I use Cooliris to help speed things along.

You don't need to install it. It's a web application which means it just works from a web page.

I would suggest increasing your screen resolution to at least 1024 x 768.

Hi Mike,
Word Tracker Trends works, untilit comes to results overlay page. It is just a partial page and does not give me the full page results. (I do not see Google Competition results at the top and I do not see the Results at the bottom.) The page is stationary and will not let me arrow the page up or down. I checked FAQ, but do not find.

Do I just download GTrends again? If so, do I uninstall current GTrends or will it download over the one presently installed?

I can't thank you enough for all your help in providing us with these tools and all the summaries, etc., etc.

Thanks,

Some days are the turning points in one's career. I'll never forget the moment I laid my eyes on this and then glued myself to the computer for the next 5 hours, finding niches left and right. I can never thank you enough. The internet will never be the same for us thirty day challengers.

Bill here again (sorry, I should've put my TDC name on my previous post), with what is probably another dumb question. Due to the Gtrends tool I'm now in the quandry of having turned up a dozen "golden" (i.e. over 100 searches and less than thirty thou. competitors) phrases, of which now I must select two only. My question: is it best to go for those with the most searches although they don't have the lowest competition figure, or those with the least competition although they don't have the most searches?
Many thanks to you all.
