Meet Skype & Pamela
By Mike Mindel | July 31, 2007
What’s Skype?
Skype is a fantastic team communication tool and it’s essential you install it. Here are the key benefits:
- Currently has 100 million usernames registered.
- Free phone calls for those with Skype.
- Cheaper external phone calls than your landline.
- Can run on Mac / PC / phones
- Can add all your contacts to Skype.
- Can call / chat with your contacts including conferencing with multiple contacts at once.
But most importantly Skype allows you to interview people.
Who’s Pamela?
Pamela is great for recording your Skype conversations which is going to come in very handy when you create your first product later in the challenge.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking ‘Oh… I’ll install it all later’. The challenge is going to move so fast that you might quickly get overwhelmed unless you’ve set up the tools first.

Hi Mike,
great info. I’m a newbie to posting etc. what does #3 above mean? It is the third response to meet skype and pamela, but the links don’t go anywhere new. I see this a lot and don’t know if I’m not doing something to read the posted comment. also, the first response says it should be the 2nd comment under recent comments. is there a side bar for this post? what were you referring to? where is the response to Paul’s comment?
thanks.

Skype is free. #3 above is a link back from the ‘all in one page’ summary. It gets posted automatically when I submit a post and reference other blog posts.

This software is only for Windows users, do you have a recommendation for Macs?
